Meet The Team

Martin began his career in the London insurance market in 1970 as an aviation facultative broker with Lloyd’s broker C E Heath. In 1983 Martin moved to Guernsey to join Transglobe Underwriting Management (Guernsey) Limited and was then appointed Managing Director of Polygon in 1995, who were the majority capacity provider to Transglobe.

In 2001 Martin orchestrated the management buyout of the fee-based companies from Polygon which formed the basis for a new company, Heritage Group Limited.  In 2005 Martin also led the buyout of the Hiscox group’s shareholding of the Heritage Group and was instrumental in the Heritage Group’s expansion. During this time Martin was Chairman of Heritage Trust Company, Heritage Fund Admin, Heritage Insurance Brokers and Heritage Captive Management.  Martin then organised the sale and purchase of the airline founder’s shareholding in Polygon.

In 2008, Martin stepped down as Chief Executive Officer, moving to the role of Non-Executive Chairman of Heritage Group until 2014. Polygon then sold its shareholding in the Heritage Group and Martin purchased the rest of management's shareholding in Polygon, making the Polygon Collective a family office. Martin now focuses exclusively on the development of the Polygon Collective.

Polygon Collective has grown enormously since then and Polygon Serviced Offices are now the Channel Islands largest supplier of serviced offices and Polymetrix is the largest and most respected data and benefits survey company in the Channel Islands. With the re-branding of the Vantage companies to Polygon, we are a strong player as a pension trustee in Jersey and one of the fastest growing insurance brokers in the Channel Islands.

Martin also holds the chairmanship for the Guernsey Nature Commission and is a president of the Guernsey Rugby Club.

Joanna is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has over 20 years’ experience in providing, implementing, and supporting a wide range of software solutions in both the commercial and financial sectors.

She joined Polygon Group Limited in 2008 working for one of the investment companies as the Accounting and Technical Officer and became IT Director of the Vantage Group in 2017 (now Polygon).

Joanna is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She was appointed to the Board of Polygon Collective in 2020 and her role has wide-ranging responsibility including infrastructure and system development coupled with her group accounting role.
In 2022, Joanna became a Director of the Vantage regulated businesses.

Liaising with external IT providers, she maintains the group’s Cyber Essentials Certification and leads the data protection team.

Jo is a Director on the following regulated companies:

Sandra is responsible for the management of insurance requirements for key corporate and personal high net worth clients. She is professionally qualified with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Born and educated in Jersey, she initially trained as an Insurance Broker with Shepherd Insurance Brokers Limited which later became Alexander Forbes Limited. She has since worked at Capital Insurance Brokers who were acquired by Vantage Insurance Brokers Limited (now Polygon Insurance Brokers Limited) in October 2014.

Sandra’s interests outside of the office include spending as much time as possible with her young family, cooking and keeping fit.

Henry is responsible for the management of insurance requirements for key corporate and high net worth clients. He holds ACII accreditation as a Chartered Insurer and Chartered Insurance Risk Manager, with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance and risk management industry.

Born in Guernsey, educated across Guernsey, Jersey and the UK, he worked in marketing and advertising before focussing on insurance. Starting with the captive insurance sector before moving to head up the insurance and business continuity function for an international optical retailer. Henry joined in 2022 to establish and run Vantage Insurance Brokers Limited (now Polygon Insurance Brokers Limited) in Guernsey.

Henry’s interests outside of the office centre around family life, running, sailing and skiing.

Vanessa joined the Collective in 2024 and was appointed Finance Director for Polygon (Jersey) Limited, Polygon Pension Trustees, and Polygon Insurance Brokers Limited in January 2025.

After spending over 20 years abroad in New Zealand, Vanessa returned to Jersey in 2024. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and possesses extensive experience in business advisory, tax planning, financial analysis, strategic planning, and project management across both the commercial and financial services sectors.

In her personal time, Vanessa enjoys travelling, art, yoga and walking with friends.

Grant is responsible for the broking, placement and management of insurance requirements for corporate and financial services clients. He holds Cert CII accreditation and has over 40 years’ experience in the London, Lloyds and offshore markets with a specialism in Trust, Captive, Fund, and Professions, Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers, Cyber and Crime insurance.

He worked in the Lloyds market for 24 years, focused on financial institutions, as Director and Managing Director of privately owned Lloyds Brokers, before moving to Guernsey in 2005 where he headed up a local brokerage until 2022. Grant joined Vantage in November of 2022 to assist and support the growth of Vantage Insurance Brokers Limited.

Outside of the office Grant’s interests centre around family life, travel, cycling, motorsport, golf and skiing – with dining out thrown in for good measure.

Jackie has held senior positions and key person roles across a range of sectors within Jersey’s finance sector over the last 38 years including banking, trust, treasury, risk and compliance.  

She was previously Vice president and Chief Risk Officer for a multi-jurisdictional Bank, responsible for credit, operational and business continuity risk. Throughout Jackie’s career she has developed a breadth of industry knowledge which is invaluable in supporting the business in managing its risk and regulatory compliance obligations.

Jackie joined Polygon Insurance Brokers in July 2024 as Head of Compliance and holds a Trustee Estate Practitioner diploma.

Outside of work, Jackie loves to travel and spend time with her family as well as being an enthusiastic cook and baker.

Danette joined Polygon Insurance in Jersey in 2024 as Team Leader and Account Executive and is responsible for managing our Trust Company relationships and working closely with private clients and financial institutions. With over 20 years’ experience, and a qualified member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, she brings a wide range of experience in both the commercial and private client sectors. Danette also works closely with her Director in assisting with the day-to-day management of the team and ensuring that the customer service level that Polygon Insurance pride themselves on is consistently met.

Interests outside of the office include cooking, walking her two dogs and spending time with her family. 

Natasha is responsible for the day to day running of all the insurance requirements for the Guernsey clients, specialising in large portfolio business and high net worth individuals. With 14 years’ experience in the insurance industry, she has completed two diplomas, one with the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2017 and more recently with the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters which she completed in December 2022. As a chartered loss adjuster, she is now adept in assisting in more complex claims.

Having been brought up in her family’s hotel in Guernsey, Natasha developed strong interpersonal skills from an early age. Eventually running the hotel with her sister, this expanded her commitment to customer service, which she brings into her day-to-day dealings with clients. She is a key member of the team and always provides a professional and dedicated service to all her clients.

Outside of work, Natasha’s main interests are spending time with her family and her main hobbies include yoga and dining out.

Miguel has a strong background in corporate logistics, having worked extensively with well-known global brands and giving him a vast experience in the areas of customer relations and corporate services.

Miguel’s insurance career started at Hiscox where he worked as an Account Administrator and joining Vantage (now Polygon) in 2019 as an Account Executive, with overall responsibility for both Corporate and individual Private Medical Insurance. Miguel has since expanded his client portfolio and is now also responsible for our professional risks business, including Professional Indemnity, Directors’ & Officers’ and Cyber insurance for both private clients and corporate service providers.

In his spare time, Miguel is a table tennis coach and is strongly committed in the coaching and development of our island’s athletes.

Jonathon joined in 2016 as an Assistant Underwriter and is now responsible for the overall performance of the Property Owner underwriting portfolio, providing this service to channel island brokers along with various brokers across the UK. Jonathon prides himself on his fast and efficient service and works conscientiously to ensure he meets his client’s expectations at all times.

Educated in Jersey, Jonathon’s main interest is spending time with his young family, and his hobbies include socialising, swimming and enjoys the dining out experience.

Jay joined in 2020 and quickly discovered a passion for Private Client insurance and is now responsible for arranging all insurance requirements of our High Net Worth individuals. Jay is a key member of the team whose professionalism and personability with both his team and clients is recognised by all that come in contact with him.

In between studying for his insurance qualifications, Jay enjoys football and gym work and is always the first to volunteer in the participation of any charity events.

Liz began her career in the insurance industry in 2015 both in the local, London and international markets with a particular interest in the technology, property and finance sectors.

Liz previously worked for Marsh Commercial dealing with the placement of various large and at times, distressed commercial risks. She enjoys educating and working with scaling businesses creating bespoke, fit for purpose programmes.

Liz is currently studying for her ACII having already completed her DipCII and fCMgr CMU Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership.

Outside of work Liz enjoys running, netball and basketball.

Olivia has joined us as a Private Client Account Executive working with the team to service the insurance needs of our High Net Worth clients. With a background in finance, private equity and administration, Olivia brings a wealth of expertise alongside a focus on client service. 

In between studying for her insurance qualifications, Olivia is a keen equestrian, actress and gym addict. Further to this, she is also a supporter of Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and Street Hearts Bulgaria, a rescue charity for dogs.
